Changes to Dangerous Goods Carriage on Cook Straight
Services.
From 1 July 2014 the use of Dangerous Goods Maritime Placards
will be required for all Cook Straight Ferry services.
In summary the changes to past practise are:
1. The use of the mixed class (bumblebee) road transport placard
is not acceptable for maritime transport. Each class of dangerous
goods exceeding the limited quantity threshold must be placarded
seperately.
2. If the vehicle is carrying marine pollutants the vehicle must
display the Ecotoxic (marine pollutant) placard, as well as any
relevant DG class placards

3. If the vehicle is carrying Dangerous Goods packed in limited
quantities only, the Limited Quantities Placard must be shown.

If you have any questions regarding placarding options required
